TH E SKY ' S THE LIMIT No matter how difficult the situation, Lancers always seemed to pull through. For example, senior Kristi Dunlavy ' s attitude was, If you put your mind to it, you could ac- complish anything. Perhaps seniors found it easy to adopt this outlook, but for sophomores and freshmen the transition from junior high to senior high was anything but simple. However, as the year progressed the initial doubts and fears were erased, and these new Lancers fit right in. Once com- fortable as Lakewood Lancers, thoughts of the future dom- inated. Faced with many obstacles, students quickly learned that the key to success was hard work. No matter what the task, it could be accomplished with the utmost skill and grace. Whether senior, junior, sophomore, or freshman, Lakewood students realized the only limits placed upon them were their own. 22 The Sky ' s The Limit

i ■ ■ ■ nS89i 8 MIDNIGHT OIL Whclhcr to do your homework before or after work, was a major question to be anwsered by most Lakewood students. These Lancers learned that the difTerent responsibilities of having a part-time job, while keeping up their grades, were related. Burning up the Midnight Oil meant staying up late to finish assignments after a full day of school and work. Lancers earned extra money or gained valuable experience toward a future career through their extra-curricular em- ployment. Some Lancers helped a customer find that perfect outfit, while others prepared our favorite frozen yogurt, or made sure that special video movie was the highlight of an evening. These LHS students all shared a common expe- rience, balancing between school and work. They were sure to have many busy days and nights along the way.
