A Step Ahead Fashions in 1984 ranged from preppy to pre osterous. The flashdance look, slightly ragged sweatshirt included, was very popular. Mini-skirts continued to be a real favor- ite with both the gals and the guys. The surfer look, which has been around since Beach Blanket Bingo , continued to be popular. For those with the budgets, the G and preppy looks were in , and shorts went with shirts ear- ing a most any mammal or reptile on the lefthand side. To reall stand out in a crowd, some Lancers donned the psycliedelic style or adopted the mod mode. The only summary of the 1984 fashion news would be that almost anything went. 1. TOM NANTAIS, IILL INGRAM, BRENT LAURITSEN, MARY CLARK, MIKE YOUNG SMA and IOLENE KANE possess quarterly style. 2. The ultimate preppies are IODI BLAKE, IULIE POOLE, STEVE SEARS, CHRISTY SUNDIN and DONNA PEHOSKI. 3. The dress-look returns to LHS thanks to LETITIA ARCHIE, KIM WOODWARD, CONNIE SENA, LORI ROWLAND, KATHY WALSH and WENDY CLARK. 4. DANA HOOTEN, GEOFF BARTON and MIKE WHITNEY were frequently caught in casual shorts and polo shirts. 5. IEFF LAING, ROBERT SALAZAR, DAVE MANNING and TED STRONG are excited by the latest centerfold of a surfboard. 6. MIKE YOUNGSMA asks PATTY BROOKS for some hair advice as a security officer prepares to arrest him. 7. MICHELLE LOTT, Bullock's Cam us Re resentative, always dresses in the latest styles. 8. Oh! You Kids! If it were fun, it was in. If it were crazy, it was in. What was in in 1984? Almost anything old, almost anything plas- tic, almost anything with an engine and gasoline in it, almost anything that went in, on, over or under anything with an engine and gasoline in it were in. And, almost anything that proclaimed Lancers 9961? From Vespas to cordless phones, from theme restaurants to pizza palaces, the variety of toys and activities available to Lancers was huge. Iazzercize, jogging and weightlifting were especially popular pastimes. There was something in for every Lancer in 1984. 1. DENNIS ARCHAMBAULT, ANDREA ROSALES, CHRIS WADE and KIM GOODMAN frequently tour the campus on their Vespas. 2. KIM SADLER prepares for a rainy day with her Izod umbrella collection. 3. Gumby, spirit buttons, personalized license plates, plastic shoes and bags, and paste-on stickers were some of the more popular fads of 1984. 4. IEFF LAINC and SCOTT OLSEN share a lunch in the cafeteria annex. 5. CHRISTY DROWN phones home with a little help from the latest cordless communication device. 6. BILL PUTREN fine-tunes his Odyssey before a weekend trip to the mountains. 7. One of the latest crazes, break dancing, allows GARY RUDNICK, CRAIG MCDONALD and SCOTT FERGUSON to show og their stuff. 8.
