Subjects of- fered in the Science Department are Biol- ogy I, Biology ll, chemistry, and physics. Earth science includes the study of the earth's origin, resources, and formations. Also included was a new mini-course called natural divisions . The biology classes continued work on the environ- mental study area, made field trips to St. Joseph Hospital's lab and surgical unit, and participated in new mini-courses enti- tled plants and man and animal ecol- ogy . The chemistry and physics classes received new laboratory materials in order to continue more extensive study of lab exercises. ln addition, the Science Department ap- plied for and received a portion of a 550,000 federal grant to be spent on text- books, lab materials, and environmental study area materials. As a special honor, Lakeside was featured on KATV Channel 7 in a report on the environmental study area.

Yet in the land of the Rams, one such place does exist, to the Lakeside student it is known as the Lakeside High Library. Amidst all the Ram activities, the library, through the efforts of Mrs. Arnold, our librarian, has maintained an atmosphere for learning and peaceful solitude. LIBRIIRY si,,,N .
