Win! f Fl -W f.- . Q 4- In f D' ssrf 2 s if 0 to 5 ' In mid-August the members of the Lakeside High School Band began work for the marching season and continued to work throughout the school year. The group played for all pep assemblies, for all football games - both at home and away. The band also per- formed at varsity basketball games. The senior band competed in the Ashdown and Cam- den lnvitational Marching Contests and marched in several parades - the Lakeside Homecoming Parade, the Hot Springs Christmas Parade, the State Fair Pa- rade, the United Way Parade, and the Garland County Fair Parade. Several band members won individual honors in all- region competiton - Kim Rucks, Monte Thornton, Al Arduengo, Howie Sublett, Carl Long, Alan German, Charlie Wehrman, Dennis Chapman, Tom Daley. Senior high all-region band includes: Terri Thiemann, David Moen, Marie Steinbrenner, Twyla Nash, Marvin Blair, and Greg Batterton. As an indication of individual talent, the junior and senior high band members own a total of 75 first and second place division medals at the Region Ill Solo and Ensemble Contest.

freshman rbmzrlealiers The freshman cheerleaders were busy throughout the 1978-79 school year. They began their activities by selling soft drinks at softball games in or- der to raise money. During the school year, they cheered at all ninth grade athletic events, in- cluding football games and boys' and girls' basketball games. They also presented an origi- nal cheer to the bas- ketball and football homecoming royal- ty.
