As part of the culture, students learn about French cooking, family life, and political beliefs. These customs are explained through programs including music, films, speakers, a trip to New Orleans, and having dinner at Le Mirabelle, and local French restaurant. French Club also participates annually in a state French-speaking contest and festival at UALR. Q The growing number of drama club Q members participated in such activi- ties as hosting Lakeside's speech tournament and producing a major play entitled The Madwoman of Chaillot. Within the Drama Club is a special - E organization, Lakeside's Thespian Troupe 2123. A thespian is a student who is interested in the dramatic and liberal arts.
