BUSIIIESS Lakeside's business curriculum expanded this year. The new courses added were Shorthand ll and introduction to business. Shorthand ll includes learning transcription and use of the IBM transcription machine. The second semester emphasis is placed on speed building. Introduction to business was offered to freshmen who spent three weeks in typing class learning the letter keyboard. These students also explored the fields of shorthand, filing, office machines, accounting, and careers related to these fields. Students of business law kept a scrapbook of newspaper articles on legal matters, studied felonies and misdemeanors, made posters of the court system in Arkansas and learned about the cost of going to court and hiring a lawyer. With these classroom activities, the business education de- partment hopes to prepare its students for today's active business world. ,wwf-M7 MM, :Lv ' ---w V V, , .,..
