RAMS .? v X, ,v xv ri Q lwx 3'-7 if ,R R is for respect - Respect for yourself - getting into drugs and alcohol indicates you are trying to escape from yourself. Just because some people do this without any obvious bad effects doesn't mean it will work for you. It is true, there is no one else in the whole wide world exactly like you. Respect for parents - try to understand the philosophy of your parents. They were brought up under different circumstances at another time. Remember they are the reason you're living. Respect for peers - Like the admiration of R2 D2 and CP30, the two droids, for each other. C is for cooperation - Alonzo Stagg, who coached 72 years used to tell his football team every year, If you jackasses get together, we will have a good team. The story of the flea riding an elephant across a swing- ing, swaying bridge over a deep ravine saying, Boy, we sure did shake that bridge, didn't we? There is no winning IH formation - the only winning formation is the WE formation. E is for enthusiasm - Nothing worthwhile is ever achieved without enthusiasm. It keeps us from being lackadaisacal, lazy, lethargic and listless. Enthusiasm is want instead of won't. So I urge all you people in the Lakeside Galaxy to .believe in the FORCE and get rid of the hate and out of the gate in '78! With regards, Third row, LfR - Coach Bridges, Coach King, G. Brooks, M. Coach ChiCk,' Austin Robinson, D. Reed, S. Garner, J. Bogard, S. Fox, B. Sligh, Coach Payton, Coach Stiffler. Fourth row, LXR - J. Freeman, D. Mes- sersmith, M. Dial, M. Verucchi, B. Burgess, K. French, J. Reyn- olds, R. Biles.

The past year most of the Lakeside students got to enjoy one of the best movies ever made, Star Wars, the biggest box office attraction of all time. It was also the theme of the excit- ing Ram Football Homecoming. The one thing that made Luke Skywalker overcome adversity was his belief in the FORCE? The past football season saw the Rams, in new Region VAAA, experience a losing year. Many things can be blamed such as inexperi- ence, injury, lack of dedication and bad coach- ing. Regardless of the reason, some ingredient was missing. Maybe we need to take a lesson from Darth Vader and rejuvenate our belief in the Force. What is the FORCE? F is for faith - Faith in a supreme being such as in the story of Abraham in the Old Testa- ment or Sir John Newton, a profane slave ship captain, who later wrote the great song, Amazing Grace. Having faith enables us to have faith in ourselves as well as each other. O is for optimism - The light at the end of the tunnel is not a train. The traffic light is a Go light and a Stop light. Two men look out from prison bars - one saw mud, the other saw stars. Like the old tune goes, You gotta accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative and don't mess with Mr. In Between. , I - ...QA- 1977 L3 la ...ii hw Front row, LfR - S. Dowling, O. Carpentar, T.
