A Thespian is a dedicated student who is interested in the dramatic and liberal arts. He participates in various dra- matic functions, such as school plays, competing in tourna- ments, and other Speech activities. What is the purpose of a Thespian Society - The Inter- national Thespian Society was organized for the purpose of advancing the standards of excellence in Theatre Arts in the secondary schools, and to honor those students who have done outstanding work in school theatre programs. The Society is a service as well as an honorary organization that stresses continued participation in the arts as a means of widening the student's and community's cultural horizons. To become a Thespian at Lakeside, a student must have earned at least ten U01 points. These points can be earned in various ways such as participating in the acting, producing, directing, business, or writing sections of a play.
