Spanish Club - The purpose of the Spanish Club is to provide an opportunity for the students taking Spanish courses to study the language, people, and background of Spanish-speaking countries in a more enjoyable way than in the classroom. Among the most important things the Spanish Club has accomplished: participating in the Arkansas Teachers' Foreign Language Festival in Little Rock, supporting a child through the Christians' Children Fund, participating in the American Field Service Carnival and Variety Show, and meeting at members' homes for a potluck supper and games.

The Christmas Tea is for the FHA members and mothers and was held at the H.S. Country Club. Members sold Stanley products, worked in football conces- sions and sold cookbooks as their main money-making projects. The girls and Mrs. T planned several noon luncheons and the annual mother-daughter banquet. Each year the FHA orga- nizes and sponsors a dance for the Middle School and other party activities. An evening dinner was held at John Barleycornis Visions in Little Rock early in the spring. The FHA has at- tended the state convention and a federation meeting at the convention auditorium. The Science Club is a relatively new club on campus. The purpose of the Science Club is to promote interest in science as well as to encourage individualized study on projects to be entered in the Region IV and State Science Fairs. This year tive students entered Region IV Science Fair held at OBU in Arkadelphia. Lynn Bailey placed third in Behaviorial Science. Wade Espenschied received honorable mention in Earth and Space Sciences on his project on space colonization. Donna Larkin also entered the division of Earth and Space Science with a project entitled Sunspots-Weatherg Is There a Relationship? Donna received second place in her division as well as Awards of Excellence from the United States Air Force, the United States Army, and the Meteorological Society. The club also plans to have a star-gazing party to be held in the spring as well as a proposed trip to the Magnet Cove Plan- etarium.
