— Juniors --------------- The Juniors had another exciting and busy year. Sev- eral of the students were in- volved in band, chorus, foot- ball, boys and girls basket- ball, volleyball, track, FHA, and FFA, while all partici- pated in shadowing and preparation for the big event of their Junior year, the Prom. Several of the girls were cheerleaders and were al- ways there to cheer on the people participating in the sport events. Many of the Juniors re- ceived awards during the year. Some of these awards were: Brian Carlson was chosen as Most Improved in baketball, Dawn Tolzin was chosen all conference in the Eastern Dakota Conference for basketball, Ronda Palm- lund was selected as an Alls- tate Band member, David Jibben placed in the top 2% in the Jamestown Math Contest and Dawn Tolzin set a School Record by scor- ing 35 points against the Oldham-Ramona girls bas- ketball team. Another highlight for the junior class was the addition of Emi Katagiri, a Japanese exchange student, to their class. I— Sophomores The Class of “88” had an up and down year at LPHS in 85’-86 They had a positive year. They grew closer as a class and matured a lot. they had a slow start with Homecoming. As usual they used a few too many streamers on their home- coming float and it blew apart during the parade. But the game and the dance turned out to be enough fun to make up for it. Activities that sopho- mores participated in dur- ing the year were all sports, FFA, FHA, Annual Staff, Blue and Gold Staff, All-School Musical, Band, and Chorus. Prom was a lot of fun for this year’s sophomores. They enjoyed the dance that was put on by the juniors and they hope to do as well with their prom next year. That pretty much ended their year as sophomores but as they looked back on it they realized how much fun they had and couldn’t figure out how it had gone by so quickly. But they plan to get the most for every moment in their Ju- nior year at LPHS. Above right-Shannon Schulz and Stacia Wilkinson try to score some points.
