Sophomores Get Together In Style This was a busy year for the Sophomore class as most were involved in music, sports, FHA and FFA. Kari Anderson, Jana Iverson, Kay Osvog, Jan Sjolie and Terri Wienk cheered on the Girls' Basketball, Football, and boys' bas- ketball teams. Lon Bratland, Ron Longville, Shane Odegaard and Darwin Smith were on hand to help the boys basketball team through the year. One hundred percent of the sophomore boys played football in 1983. Ron Longville was chosen by the team as most improved for the season. Lon Bratland, Shane Odegaard, Jan Sjolie, Terri Wienk, and Jana Iverson all sang in the swing choir. They were also in regular chorus along with Deanna Pickering, Kari Anderson, Rhonda Carlson, Michelle Heitman, Kay Osvog, and Sandy Schillinger. In January the class increased by one. Tasha Koepke moved to Lake Preston from St. Paul, Minnesota. According to one of the sophomores, ''We had lots of fun despite all the classes we had to take. Sophomore class officers. School Events Bring Juniors Together The juniors had a busy year working con- cessions to make money for prom. They met during homeroom to do their prom planning. Their advisors were Mr. Richard Ritter, Mr. Ray Schulte, Miss Terri Bennis and Miss Jean Walth. Besides working concessions, many juniors were involved in extra-curricular activities such as: football, basketball wrestling, volley- ball, track, cheerleading, band, chorus, FHA, FFA, Blue Gold Staff, Annual Staff and the play. Some of the juniors received various awards throughout the school year. Sharri Casper went to Oklahoma for national land judging. Juli Jensen and Todd Carlson attended All- State Chorus. Kim Jacobsen and Bonnie Ell- ingson were chosen for all-conference volley- ball. Carol Hesby attended All-State Band. Juli Jensen was chosen for her second year in South Dakota Honors Choir. Michelle Jensen, Carol Hesby and Kristi Jibben were chosen as Girls' State delegates with Nancy Martin and Jennifer Rockino as alternates. Todd Carlson was chosen Boys' State Delegate. Bonnie Ell- ingson and Denise Tolzin qualified for the State Track Meet and Ranae Dement was cho- sen to attend the Youth Business Academy in Sioux Falls.
