Two Dramatic One Acts 30 As a result of a blizzard, Tom has to spend the night at the Ames farm. Unaware of Emmy Lou or her Mama's insaneness, he agrees to re- pay them for his stay by shooting their sick, old dog, Herman. With a gun in hand, he walks right into a trap; instead of an old dog. Tom finds Emmy Lou's dead husband, Andrew. Lem Wheeler, the sheriff, is called in to investigate and arrest Tom for the murder. Lem discovers the dead body is far too frozen to have been shot this afternoon; leav- ing only Emmy Lou or her Mama to be guilty. Lem leaves, but promises to be back in the morning to pick up the ladies. He asks if they would be kind enough to save that last piece of apple pie for him. Mama decides since Emmy Lou has shot Andrew, it is only fair that she herself spice up Lem's pie a little with strychnine. Debbie Tolzin won Best Sup- porting Actress in her role of Mama, and Dean Nelson received Best Sup- porting Actor as Tom. The play won second in the local level. Mama.......... Emmy Lou ....
