While Swindle appears to be the ever-faithful friend in need, Harriet and Nellie remain unaware of his dastardly plan to gain control of their Glory Gulch Railroad. Sterling Worth, the dimwitted, white-hat rancher, proves to be the hero of the day as he sends Hugo to his fatal death. 26

Fargo Fink Is Foiled Forever The Innkeepers Daughter Fargo Fink schemes to swindle the Stagecoach Inn from Harry Dove and his wife, Marion. Their daughter, Violet, falls in love with Tracy Jones, who is trying to save the Doves property. Mean- while, Chief Standing Bull leads an Indian uprising, and Granny Wilde is kidnapped by that evil rat, Fink. Tracy Jones saves the day by turning back the Indians and capturing Fargo Fink. DeWayne Anderson Bill Paterson Diane Wolkovv Peggy Osvog Gail Swenson Beth Kazmerzak Stan Steffensen Mrs. Furney Priscilla, young school marm, returns to her home town to care for her crippled niece, Becky and to fill the position vacated by the kidnapped, kindly, old Miss Tyler. Smedley Smidgen, who swindles money from unsuspecting school marms, murders Miss Tyler and attempts to take advantage of Miss Priscilla. Jenny witnesses the mur- der and enters into a horrible trauma. Harlowe Starbuck, in love with Priscilla, saves her from the clutches of Smedley and kills the evil villain. The reward money pays for Becky's operation and Harlowe and Priscilla live hap- pily ever after. On the evening of the local one- act play contest, a state champ was born. Perils of Priscilla, our Baby, captured top honors and went to regional competition in Water- town. Lightning struck again as the LPHS cast received a superior rating. Bill, Diane, DeWayne, Gail, and Stan were honored with superior in- dividual awards. State contest here we come! This was the motto as the Perils of Priscilla reached the ultimate climax by taking the top awards in Sioux Falls. 27
