Vocal Soloists And Ensembles Attend Contest TRIPLE TRIO The Girls' Triple Trio received a superior rating at the Region III Music Contest in Watertown on February 22. They are, left to right, Minerva Anderson, Karen Johnshoy, Sandra Danielson, Lois Nelson, Colleen Rich, Peg- gy Green, Margaret Svihel, Barbara Andersen, and Arleen Rasmussen. MIXED OCTET The Mixed Octet provided music for the school Christmas program in Dec- ember, and in February, they received a superior rating at the Music Con- test. They are, left to right, Karen Johnshoy, Peggy Green, Sandra Dan- ielson, Barbara Andersen, David Thomas, Mark Thom- sen, Jerry Christensen, and Brian Odden. At piano, Miss Scott. BOYS ENSEMBLE The participants of the Boys Ensemble were chosen from the Mixed Chorus to partake in the Music Con- test at Watertown where they received a third. SECOND ROW: Jean Nelson, Jean The band gave three concerts during the school year. The concerts included the Pops Concert in the fall, a mid- cinter concert in January, and the Spring Concert in April. Also in April, the band received a superior rat- ing at the music contest in Brookings. For the contest, Marching Band The band marched in homecoming parades in Lake Preston, Huron, and Brookings. They recieved third in the marching band competition in Huron on Pow Wow Day. The band also marched on Memorial Day. 28
