This laboratory is the scene of many ex- periments by the classes in biology and chemistry. Lab. projects of the year for the biology class include the compiling of insect collections and the dissection of representatives of invertebrates and ver- tebrates. Laboratory projects, including several experiments dealing with the study of the elements to testing for unknowns, have kept the junior and senior chemistry class busy throughout the year. Ag. I and II have been busy building farm projects such as feed bunks, livestock waterers and the remodeling of furniture. Ag. Ill and IV have studied about welding and motor mechanics, woodworking, opera- tion and care of farm machinery, operation and care of power and hand tools, shop safety, and the importance of shop work in relation to the farm. The home economics classes have been learning to become better homemakers. In the freshmen class, breakfasts and sewing with cotton were their main objectives. Wool was the fabric for sophomore dresses and luncheons were their projects this year. Home Economics III were busy with wool suits and party dresses for oncoming events. They also learned to prepare din- ners for festive occasions. The annual style show was given in late spring. At this time the girls exhibited their dress- making projects for the year. This typing class was caught in one of their weaker moments, everyone was work- ing. Mr. Roggenbuck is in charge of the commercial department that teaches typing, bookkeeping, and shorthand.

HOMECOMING Homecoming is one of the big events in Lake Preston High. The festivities for 1962 started with the coronation. Joyce Albert and John Dean were crowned king and queen on Thursday night. Their attendents were as follows: Nola Jibben and Brent Gates, seniors; Leslie Anderson and Wayne Odegaard, juniors ; Janet Millett and Terry Danielson, sophomores; Sandra Bode and Alan Odden, freshmen. A pep rally, bonfire, snake dance, and midnight movie boosted the spirits for Friday night's game. The annual parade led by the American Legion Color Guard started Friday's excitement. The band led a parade of beautiful and unusual floats. The winning floats were as follows: sophomore class-most beautiful; junior class-most original; and FFA-most humorous. To make the 1962 homecoming a complete success the Divers defeated Elkton by a score of 20-19. After the football game Leo Fortin honored us with music for the homecoming dance.
