For its clear-cut originality, the declam float won the honors as the most original float. For its humorous aspects, the Nat- ional Honor Society placed highest in the humorous division. The music float caught the Judges' eyes and captured the honors In the most beautiful division. The following students, Barbara Neu, Delaine Abel, Nola Jibben, Dorene Tenneboe, Stanley Rauch, Mark Gullickson, Paul Nelson, and Eugene Austad, were attendants to Queen Carolyn Nelson and King Bruce Koch.

Homecoming festivities for 1961 began Thursday night, October 5, with the crowning of Carolyn Nelson as queen and Bruce Koch as king. The attendants were: seniors Stanley Rauch and Dorene Ten- neboe;juniors Mark Gullickson and Nola Jibben; sophmores Paul Nel- son and Delaine Abel, and freshmen Eugene Austad and Barbara Neu. Marla Nelson and Steven Millet were crown bearers. A pep rally and a bonfire at the football field, a snake dance, and a movie com- pleted the evenings festivities. On Friday afternoon,the parade was led by the American Legion Color Guard, preceded by the band, and many beautiful floats. The winning floats were: in the Humorous division, the Nation- al Honor Society won; the Music float won in the Most Beautiful division; the Declam float won the honors in the Most Origional division. The climax of our Homecoming took place Friday night with the football game with DeSmet. We were defeated by a score of 25-13. Following the game, there was a school dance enjoyed by all at the auditorium. Homecoming 18
