Don Hookie rebounds the ball in a game against the Iro- quois Chiefs. Bruce Koch and Kenny Olson stand bel ow. Marjorie Johnson, Sally Green, Jennifer Auen and Carolyn Nelson were chosen as cheerleaders for the 1961-62 activity season. Joyce Albert and Delaine Abel were also cheerleaders during the foot- ball season. These girls did a wonder- ful Job in leading our various sports activities to victory. They kept an atmosphere of good sportsmanship at all times 15

Our team got off to a flying start by defeating Del Rapids, who went undefeated the rest of the season, by a score of 13 to 12. The Divers did not enjoy another victory until they defeated Doland, by a slim margin , later In the season. The Lake Preston Divers started football practice on August 23, with a good turnout. Under the coaching of Del Gerlach, head coach, and Merlyn Krenz, assistant coach, the Divers brought home a record of two wins and six losses. Approximately 20 boys worked out every afternoon for the 1961-62 track season. The active track team took part in three different track meets held In Watertown. Several boys placed in the ECC meet. Kenny Olson progressed onward and be Jumped 5 feet 7 Inches In qualifying him for the state track meet. Mark Gul- lickson qualified for the regional final and he ran the 100 yard dash in 10.8 seconds. Ken Olson was aw- arded the most Improved player award In track and Mark Gullickson was aw- arded the most valuable track player award. J
