Sixth row: Mr. Dynda, Linda Rindahl. Girls’ Glee Club The Girls Glee Club, also directed by Mr. Dynda, sang And It Came To Pass' and Lullaby for Mary's Son at the P.T.A. Christmas Program. In April, they partici- pated in the Region III Music Contest and sang Were You There and Nocturne . They received an excellent rating. These two songs plus April Showers and Molly Alone were sung for the annual spring concert. These eight students represented Lake Preston at All State Chorus, which was held in Huron. Seventh row: Mr. Dynda, Treava Danielson. ----------- This year there were sixty-six members in the mixed chorus, under the direction of Mr. Dynda. Their first concert was at the P.T.A. Christmas Program. They sang The Star , Gloria! Sing Gloria! , and A Joyous Christmas Song . With the coming of the Region III Music Contest in April, they traveled to Brookings. They received an excellent rating with the singing of He's Goin' Away and Jesu, Priceless Trea- sure . For the spring concert they sang the two contest songs and There is a Balm in Gilead and Pioneer's Prayer . The years activities ended with the singing of the Battle Hymn of the Republic and I Believe for Commencement. 28

Woodwind Trio Flute Quartet Setting a new school record. Lake Preston brought home thifteen Superior ratings at the Region III Solo and Small Group Ensemble Contest which was held in Brook- ings. They also brought home eight Excellent ratings, and one Good rating. Those receiving Superior ratings were-Marjorie Johnson, DeAnna Cleveland, Treava Danielson, Delaine Abel, Virgil Andersen, and Robert Larson for voice solos. Mixed groups obtaining Superior ratings were-Drum Ensemble, Mixed Clarinet, and Mixed Octet. Instrumental Soloist receiving Superiors were-Robert Larson-trom- bone; Linda Rindahl-piccolo; Jeanette Beck-flute; and Bill Nelson-drum. The eight Excellent ratings went to-Sally Green-clarinet solo; Kay Stubkjaer-oboe solo; Lorel Thomsen-bass clarinet solo; Woodwind trio. Clarinet quartet. Brass- quartet, Saxophone quartet, and the Girls Triple Trio. The one Good rating went to the Flute quartet. Girls Triple Trio
