In they participated in the Region III Music ing the band activities for the year was a Band Officers: President-Trea- va Danielson, Vice President- Roger Thorsvold, Secretary- Treasurer-Sandra Larson. Bill Nelson and Robert Larson repre- sented Lake Preston in the eleventh annual All State Band held in Sioux Falls on the 24th and 25th of April. 27

The high-stepping marching band appeared in three local homecoming parade, the band also marched in in our list of homecoming appearances was the Hobo Day our fall marching appearances. The Pops Concert was April the band traveled to the State College where Contest. They obtained an excellent rating. Conclud- marching appearance in the Memorial Day Parade.

Seventh row: Mr. Dynda, Treava Danielson. ----------- This year there were sixty-six members in the mixed chorus, under the direction of Mr. Dynda. Their first concert was at the P.T.A. Christmas Program. They sang The Star , Gloria! Sing Gloria! , and A Joyous Christmas Song . With the coming of the Region III Music Contest in April, they traveled to Brookings. They received an excellent rating with the singing of He's Goin' Away and Jesu, Priceless Trea- sure . For the spring concert they sang the two contest songs and There is a Balm in Gilead and Pioneer's Prayer . The years activities ended with the singing of the Battle Hymn of the Republic and I Believe for Commencement. 28
