Lake Oswego The end result? A huge, new gym, a modem, airy library, an entire, new wing on the main building, a tremendous increase in on-campus parking space, and a brand new cafetorium with an extra big stage and much improved serving facilities were added to the L.O.H.S. campus. The school is now prepared to meet the expected increase in enrollment from the present 780 students to 1200 students in 1966 without further building additions.

A New Look For In January of 1960, the school district floated a bond issue to finance the enlargements and improvements on Lake Oswego's high school buildings that were so desperately needed to meet the demands of ever-increasing student enrollment. Architects, carpenters, electricians, masons, and plumbers went into action and the year 1960-61 flew by as the workmen and machines forged ahead through seas of mud. 10

Graduation ceremonies were held in L.O.H.S. 's new gymnasium this year. Constructed for an eventual seating capacity of 1800, there were seats for only 1400 people as some of the old bleachers had not yet been replaced. There is space for two classroom stations behind the north bleachers when they are folded up. Downstairs there are a health room, a health classroom, an apparatus room, a physical education dressing room, team room, training room, equipment storage rooms, and a P.E. office. 12
