Administrative Assistants MR. JAMES BROAD IS KNOWN AND RESPECTED at Lake Oswego high school for many reasons. He is the vice-principal of Lake Oswego, is an algebra teacher, is director of the attendance program. and at- tends to most disciplinary problems. Mr. Broad is a hardworking administrator, with a keen sense of the student opinion and an excellent sense of humor which aids him greatly in his relations with the L.O.H.S. student body. MR. DICK PIZZO, DIRECTOR OF STU- DENT AFFAIRS, teacher of general mathe- matics, coach of the swimming team, and advisor of the Student Body Cabinet and the Student Senate had a multitude of new achievements in 1958. Due to Mr. Pizzo's direct interest in the school and students, he is often called upon for help in planning a certain activity or overcoming a problem. He has seen the successful introduction of a revised club program into the school's gov- ernment. He was the proud coach of the boys' swimming team when it won the State Swimming Championship-the first in Lake Oswego high school's history. Without the able guidance of Mr. Pizzo, many student activities, such as the senior class dinner, would not have attained their great success. AS IN PAST YEARS, MISS FRANCES BARBEY was again the counselor to the senior class but this year she added to her duties by being a counselor to part of the junior class. In the course of her general work as a counselor she has occasion to help many students, from freshmen to seniors, in planning their curriculum, in finding a job for the summer or weekends, in choosing the right college, and in directing the students toward possible careers. This year also found Miss Barbey teaching two psychology classes as well as becoming settled in her new home. All of these contribute to making Miss Bar- bey's life a very busy one.
