Left to right—Mrs. Helen Miller, Mr. George Carl, Mr. Frederick Torp, Mr. Robert Belknap, Dr. C. K. Chapman, Mr. Harold Santee, Dr. Everill Fowlks, Mr. Harry Lovett, Dr. C. Todd Jessell. Behind all of Lake Oswego High School’s achievements is the School Board. When problems arose it was the School Board that thought and planned with a great deal of effort how they should be solved. When we needed more parking space, the athletic field drained, and the track made usable, to whom did we turn? Yes, the School Board. With their wonderful spirit and vision for making and carrying out plans for our school, they have won a high place in our esteem. We think ours is the finest school board any school could have.

MR. HAROLD SANTEE If it takes a leader in his own school life to be a school administrator, Mr. Santee is extremely well fitted for the job of Superintendent of Schools of this district. In his own school days, Mr. Santee was president of his senior class, a member of the basketball and track teams and an adtive participant in high school dramatics. All of these things have afforded him experience and appreciation in the things which appeal to young people. Add to all this Mr. Santee’s genuine liking for and understanding of people and you’ll realize why he was and is a school leader—why he exemplifies genuine school spirit. MR. ROBERT BELKNAP That our principal has dramatic ability, a snapshot on a succeeding page will testify. There we see Mr. Belknap in the role of a butler in a school play, costumed becomingly for the part. But dramatics wasn’t his only forte in his own school days. He played basketball, football, baseball, and tennis, and was class president; and, with all that, he maintained membership in the National Honor Society. We are proud to have as an administrator a real exponent of school spirit. 8
