Outside again! Warm days and cool nights marked the beginning of the Spring of ’75. In the celebrating, the bats swung, balls were kicked and hit, batons were passed, and new records were set. The final season of another competitive year yielded two district champions and many other admirable records. Through diligence and perseverance, we earned our place among the top schools and not at the very bottom as was usually expected of new schools. At the beginning of the spring, games were played in the hot sweltering afternoons. Due to parent opposition, the school board reversed the policy of no commemoration night games; however, only Boys Varsity Baseball and Boys Varsity Soccer were affected by its decision. Finishing a great season in 1975 by taking third place in-the Gunston District with a 6-5 win over George Mason, the Varsity Baseball team went on to play Yorktown in Regional competition. They were defeated, with a final score of 0-6. This closed the season, during which the team totaled a record of 12 wins, 8 losses. Throughout the spring, a few individual team members acquired some admirable records. Pat Mulvihill, the team’s high pitcher, had a 7 win, 3 loss record, and an earned run average of 1.58. Danny Page had the high batting average, 351. In a surprise play, Dave Greeley bunts the ball.
