Anyone in ninth through twelfth grades could have signed up for this course. Ms. Cale felt that for a school of this size the speech depart¬ ment just wasn’t meeting the students’ needs. Perhaps there would be enough classes for everyone to take speech in the future. Did you ever get up in front of a group of people to speak and find the words didn’t get past the lump in your throat? The stu¬ dents learned the basics and procedures to architectural drawing, and were then assigned various subjects to con¬ struct. The assignments included house plans, foundations, plot plans, wall sections, and roof structures. They were also instructed in the drawing up of exterior and interior eleva¬ tions and in the use of perspective when applied to architec¬ ture.
