When asked about their future plans, the response was automatic: “I’m gonna dig a hole and jump in it.” Others gave more definite answers: “George Mason.” “Some college or another.” “Who me? Get married and forget the whole thing.” Of course, there were those who hadn’t considered it at all: “Who knows!” Bob Sisson: NHS 4; Latin Club 3, 4; JV Football 2; JV Spring Track 2; JV Winter Track 2; V Spring and Winter Track 3, 4. Whispers of hopes pinned upon college applications sent to schools throughout the country were followed by whispers of changing ideas. After the school year which marked the end of traditional education and the beginning of lifelong responsibility, many seniors weren’t sure they were ready to face the world. Will I live at home, or, get an apartment with some friends? Will I go off to college and be comfortable there? Will I travel and see the country as I have always wanted to? Questions and no answers, dreams and, more dreams, hope and no help. Because it was the decision of the individual, it was a confusing, and unbelievable ' realization that faced the seniors, but it was a common and confusing realization as others also exchanged their dreams.
