The purpose in the Model Railroad Club is to build and run a large scale model railroad. They visit Southern Railways, often touring the Potomac Yards. 228 oo The purpose of the Broadcasting Club is to give the experience of participating in the field of communications and serving the Lake Brad- dock School by broad¬ casting the news each day. They have their daily news and music show taped 8:00-8:30 and it’s on the air 8:30-8:40 daily. WLBS worked closely with WEEL radio in setting up its station down in the main office and putting together equipment until funds allow a perman¬ ent broadcasting station from tape deck to con¬ trol panel. The sponsor, Ms. Baturin, has a special love for communications since it was her major at Syracuse University. WEEL’s Bruc e Diamond— D.J., Greg Pearson—-News Director, and Bob Ra¬ leigh—Station Manager, have boosted WLBS staff through their talks, visits and “red carpet” treat¬ ment of our staff at the WEEL station in Fairfax.
