Junior Varsity Cheerleaders The Junior Varsity Cheer¬ leaders are sponsored by Mrs. Pat Houlihan. Their captain is Renee Carpenter and their co¬ captain is Sue Hyer. They sup¬ port the athletic events by promoting school spirit. They decorate the halls for special functions and they decorate the team lockers. The cheer¬ leaders attended an NCA clinic for four days at Head College where they received five blue ribbons and the traditional spirit stick and were the only squad on the J.V. level to make run ups for the Coca Cola Award. NEWSPAPER STAFF Bottom Row— Kathy Rouse, Saress Ivey. Jane Hurd, Steve Reynolds, Eric White, Darby Lightel. Top Row —Mrs. Virginia Harold, Trix McNair, Noreen O’kane, Mark Via, Amy Norton, Aurther Benckert, Jim Davidson. The newspaper staff is spon¬ sored by Mr. Pat McCarthy and Mrs. Virginia Harrold. Their main editor in charge is Steve Reynolds and their news editor is Kathy Rouse. The newspaper has many more people who work with them who are reporters. Their two photo¬ graphers are Eric White and David Pasztor. Their job is to inform the students and their parents of cur¬ rent events within Lake Braddock Secondary. The free mailing home of the newspaper was made possi¬ ble by a grant from the Boosters. The Bear Facts” is the only news¬ paper in the area which is responsi¬ ble for all work-layout, composi¬ tion and off-set printing. The Bear Facts was chosen as outstanding by the judges of the FCPS School Publications Contest. The staff received a certificate of achieve¬ ment from the Fairfax County School Board. QUASIMODO STAFF The Quasimodo, or, in other words, the Literary Magazine’s purpose is to provide a means for pub¬ lishing literature and art work created by the stu¬ dent body. They have al¬ ready published a Lit¬ erary section in the school newspaper and are planning many more activities.
