Wrestling One of the basic principles of competitive sports is to provide a set of circum¬ stances which are obstacles in the pursuit of success. The challenge is to overcome these obstacles within the framework of established rules. Preparation for the in¬ dividual confrontation with an obstacle is an important part of wrestling. Wrestling, as well as other competitive athletics, prepares a man for life. Life, as well as competitive athletics, has obstacles within a set of rules, which must be overcome in order to be successful. Freshman Team Record 8-2 They placed second in the Freshman Tournament. Tony McDonald—145 lbs., was the Tournament Champion. Junior Varsity Record 10-0 They won the Junior Varsity Tournament. Tournament Champions: Vince Jones—98 lbs. Chuck Herb—145 lbs. Bob Klaren—155 lbs. Mark Millen—185 lbs. Vince Jones placed first in the Varsity Gunston District Tournament. Mark Miller placed third; Bob Klaren and Dave Christie placed fifth. Mark Miller placed fourth in the Regional Tournament and then participated in the State Tournament. He placed fifth in the State Tournament.
