SALUTATGRY e, the members of the graduating class of l950, are gathered here to celebrate class night. we have long awaited this occasion, which seniors consider a high point of their last year. Now with our parents and friends, we pause for a few minutes to recall our memorable years at Lafayette. May we convey to our well wishers our sincerest greet- ings and our hope that they will enjoy our program with us. In a few days we shall terminate our experience of sheltered years of education at Lafayette and take separate ways into the strife ridden world. Some will further their education in college: others will enter a vocation. Under the watchful eyes of our principal, teachers and parents, we have gained invaluable knowledge and strength ot character in preparation for a more serious consideration in life. Our scholastic organizations and athletic teams have taught us to work effectively with others and to develop our individual abilities. The extent to which these organizations have succeeded is evident in our excellent senior class organization. we are told that in high school Hwhatever we are to be we are be- coming.W what have we DBCOMC? Are we worthy citizens of tomorrow? Have we learned to think logically, to stand firmly for our ideals against whatever abuse may D8 levied against us, to meet our moral obligations to our fellow men? Do we know that we can not truly suc- ceed unless we have the ambition and initiative to do more than is required of us? Ne believe that the training we have received thus far will prove to D6 a strong foundation upon which to build our future Before we enter this new, serious epoch of life, we pause to en- joy this last happy moment. we are pleased that our friends are gath- ered to enjoy the occasion with us. CLASS PQEM THE CYCLE OF MAN The cycle of man is a mystery. At birth God gives him brain and will To help him make a plan. What each man does with skills God gives Reveals greatness in man. Each makes his plans, then works them out: As goals are reached, new ones are set. Man strives. Each part he tests Against the whole design. He learns, He toils, he smiles, he rests.
