Miss Bellinger came to Lafayette as teacher of Latin ortly after her graduation from Mount Holyoke College, and she has en a tireless worker in the interest of her students and of the school er since. We miss her quiet and efficient manner, her sincere under- anding OT the problems of her students. r. RODCTI McGowan, our popular teacher or Math- ematics, has accepted a position as guidance counselor for boys at East High School. He has always worked tire- lessly to promote every Lafayette project and we miss his quiet efficiency and cheerful smile. We wish him every success in his new work. rs. Miss Bige- low has taken Miss Howellls place in room 2U and Miss Dushane has been assigned to home room 205. We wish these teachers success in their new assignments. Mr. Gitin has been a part- time guidance connselor for boys and teacher of history at Lafayette for several years, and Miss Nice has returned to Lafayette after serving as guidance counselor for girls at Kensington High School. Their advice and assistance to our students is invaluable and we appreciate their efforts on our behalf. Gitin ln clearing out an Oracle drawer recently, some faculty pic- tures were discovered. Since most of our teachers are camera shy, we are happy to present a few of our most daring pedagogs. Some day we hope that the whole faculty will agree to have its picture taken. It would be very much appreciated and would add a great deal to the Year Book. Our critics tell us so. It happens that the discovery included the pictures of several men teachers and among them are Mr. Svensson ana Mr. Unger in charge of the book store and Mr. Monroe who has charge of the book room. Both of these extra duties are effective services in the school. Mr. Whalleyls work is well known and appreciated. A number of the Lafayette teachers have been quite unfor- tunate this year. Miss Warner and Miss Rogers broke limbs, Miss Yates, a vertabrae, and Miss Link her arm. Miss Burke has had a serious illness. MR. NILBER E. UNGER I4

' .ff MISS MARY LOU NICE GUIDANCE tudents at Lafayette High School have always received guidance in their choice of courses and vocations. Home- room and classroom teachers have assist- ed them in selecting suitable courses to prepare them for their chosen careers. The work of the guidance counselors is to coordinate the guidance services available at Lafayette. The counselors offer individual counseling when students need or wish it.
