USS LABOON FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP Family Support Group Officers Cissy Howell — President Dawn Kramarczuk — Vice President Adrianne Schmidt — Secretary Arlene Ledbetter — Treasurer Advisors: Julie Moran Theresa Byron Becki Heim Jeannette Lizano USS LABOON Family Ombudsmen The Ombudsman is a vital resource to assist the com- mand in discharg- ing the command- ing officer ' s (CO) responsibilities for the morale and wel- fare of the com- mand ' s families. The Ombudsman is the link between the command and the Navy family. This is especially true in deploying commands, where the Ombudsman is the primary point of contact between the families at home and the com- mand during de- ployment. The Laboon Family Support Group provided several activities for the friends and families of Laboon sailors during the deployment. In addition to the several long hours of hard work dedicated to en- suring we had a wonderful homecoming on August 18th, the Family Support Group hosted the following events. April 8, Easter Party at Norfolk Crossings Navy Housing Rec. Center May 20, Halfway Party at Jillian ' s June 3, Family Halfway Celebration at Ocean Breeze Fun Park August 5, Outchop Celebration at Jillian ' s August 17, Family Hospitality Night Group shot from Halfway Night: Jack Murphy, Pete Carlson, Laura Willis, Jeanette Lizano, Julie Moran, Dawn Kramarczuk, Becki Heim, Arlene Ledbetter, Cissy Howell Becki Heim is the spouse of ET2 Kevin Heim, who both lived in Louisville, KY, before making a life out of the Navy. Becki and her family, which now includes a son and daughter, have lived in Or- lando, FL, and Great Lakes, IL, before settling into the Hampton Roads area for the past 9 years. This cruise is her third as a Navy Wife, and her 1st as an om- budsman. Jeanette Lizano and her hus- band GMl Frank Lizano both orig- inally come from Florida. She has been a Navy Wife for 12 years, spending the entire time in Nor- folk, VA. The proud mommy of three girls, Jeanette successfully survived 5 deployments before be- coming an ombudsman for the LA- BOON.
