Coach Wright Fred Brown Rod Gentry Tom Wilson Gary Krone La Sierra's A basketball team had a terrific season. A second G.E.L. A basket ball championship was brought to La Sierra. In this year's team, depth, skill, and stamina were shown. In many of the games our team had to come from behind to win. Dana Versteegh was named the top play er in the G.E.L. John Martin and Benny Black were also named to the G.E.L. All-Star team. 208

Led by Gary Baker, the Lambert brothers, Keith McKern, and Charles Eggleston, the thinclads compiled an outstanding record. In dual competition the C team was victorious in all league meets. The team of McKern, Eggleston, Lambert, Bianchi, and Taylor placed second in a sectional meet at Oroville. Gary Baker set a league record for a 2.1 mile Coach course. 207
