PrincipaI's Message ln one of his best loved poems, Robert Frost mused, Two roads diverged in a wood, and l- l took the one less travelled by, And that has made all the difference. lt occurs to me that most of the doers in the history of mankind have been people who were willing to take the road less travelled by, and thus, not only for themselves, but often for the entire world, that has made all the difference. These lines of Frost's may mean different things to different people,-which is one of the charms of poetry, but certainly one meaning is that people who rise above the crowd, who accomplish something out of the ordinary, achieved their goal by being willing to travel the lonely road of work, research, or just plain study, by themselves, when they would have preferred to be spending their time pleasurably with their friends. ln these busy and fun-filled days of annual-signing, counting weeks and days until graduation, or at least until the end of the school year, I hope each of you has had a truly successful year, in all the facets of your lives that are of the most significant and ultimate importance. lf you have, it is safe to conclude that there have been many times this year when you, too, have taken the road less travelled by, as the price you chose to pay for social, scholastic, or spiritual growth,-all of which are worthy goals.
