The Recreation Building, the oldest building of the present L-P Campus, was erected in 1914, adjacent to Old Main and connected with it by an overhead covered passage. In 1923-24, the building was remodeled to include recitation rooms for the new Junior College. The building, completely remodeled in 1941, is now fully equipped tor health and physi- cal education classes as well as an extensive athletic program. The gymnasium, located on the second floor of the Recreation Building, is used for both high- school and junior-college athletics and - since the increase in the L-P Student Body in the last few years -- tor assembly programs and dances. This gymnasium, located on the ground floor of the Old Main high-school building, was converted into an auditorium when the new Recreation Building was constructed.
