1910 'N X I The physncal plant un 1910 conslsted of two bunldnngs The mann bulldlng of the La Salle Peru Township Hugh School was erected at the corner ot Fstth and Chartres Streets In La Salle near the Peru boundary In 1897 The Manual Trannung and Domestic Scuence busldung whuch was a gntt of Mrs F W Matthnessen was bullt nn the year 1903 on the block west of the mann bunldung two thtrds of whsch olock was also afterwards glven to the Townshnp by the same donor 119 2 Ell Ess 1 The year 1910 marked the bnrth of the Ell Ess Pe In the 50 years of nts exnstence the yearbook has carrned the stornes of many changes In the La Salle Peru Townshlp Hugh School With a staft of f1ve boys Mr J M Welch self appounted edntorln-chnef produced the 1910 yearbook The name Ell Ess Pe was suggested by Eleanor Mason The annual was f1nanced per sonally by the editor In chlef and hs staff the coples sellnng for twenty f1ve cents apiece In the decade 1910 1920 the school enrollment Increased from 300 to 432 the faculty from 15 to 24 and the graduatung sensors from 43 to 65 The suze of the yearbook Increased too- from a 62 page pamphlet lwuth 31 of these pages contaunnng advertnsungl to a 216 page yearbook nn 1920 lwnth 70 pages of adsl There was no yearbook In 1911 the second volume of the Ell Ess Pe was publshed nn 1912 and e blncatlon has sunce been conhnuo s that hns 1960 Ell Ess Pe repres ts he 50th Annnversary Edltuon Pa-jc tl rec . . -. - . i xt wig ' I. .
