Wielding the baton, Mr. Lewis Forney, chairman of the Music Department, helped elementary and Warrior band members master the complexities of playing the brass and percussion instruments as well as the wood winds. Boys and girls in five glee clubs, ably directed by Mr. Robert Gurnee, also practiced long hours to achieve perfection in singing all types of musical numbers. To familiarize students with all phases of art was the principal aim of the Art Department, instructed by Mr. William Fontenrose, chairman.
