Baseball The Wildcats under the guidance of Coach Albert Baer Ikeda tried to retain the North Division Cliampionship this year, but were unable to prevent the Honokaa Dragons from taking a close one, 2 to 1. Had they done so, there would have been a three way tie for first place between these two teams and Laupahoehoe. This team of dgtermined hoys, t'nder the guidance of Head Coach Takao Araishi and Field Iivents Coach Howard Tatsuno, found out the hard way that track was a sport for men, where each individual was only what he trained himself to he. livery afternoon the hoys trained themselves in the dashes, the shot-put, the broad jump, and the high jump hefore going through the torture of stomach butterflies to hring what glory they could do their team and alma mater. Two boys were picked for the High Island All-Star Team that represented the Big Island at the Punahou relays. The two hoys were Roger Del Rosario for the high jump and Gay Spencer for the 100 yd. dash and 220 yd. dash. 104
