But, due to a tie with the Hilo Intermediate Debate Team for the Big Island Championship, a picked Affirmative Team composed of Daisy Khim, James Masutomi, and Tsuyoshi Iwamoto debated the Hilo Negative and lost the championship to them by a close decision. 4713
