Wildcat sextette wins easily whereas the boys once again give the Terri- torial Champs a scare by flash- ing potential power and an un- deniable fighting spirit. Cafeteria. One hundred seventy four' ab- sentees are registered as the measles epidemic spreads. Basketball teams return from Kohala with a 1500 average as the boys win a 40-41 decision and the girls are unsuccessful by one point, in a sizzling dou- ble-header. Mr. Cecil Bernard, County YM- CA Sec. speaks before the as- sembly on Abraham Lincoln. Capacity crowd watches the Wildcats edge out a 29-25 ver- dict against the Mauites in a lo- cal game. The visitors are hon- ored later in the evening with a banquet at the Cafeteria. The Campus gets a new hair- cut as the students engage in a general cleanup. 12-16 girls are given an opportunity to show their working wares as Mr. Clashman furnishes them with hoes, sickles and weeders. Gilbert Hayashi receives a note asking him to pay 10 cents to the library as a fine. Doing some detective work he finds out that Y. I. had black mailed him and he gets a hearty laugh. FEBRUARY, 1937 Flag is flown at half mast as Manji Koike, Senior, passes away after lengthy illness at the Kona Hospital. Fusao Uchiyama and Martha Ushiroda are elected President and Sec.-Treasurer of the T.H.- S.G.A. respectively, by the Se- nate. Alfred, Masatsugu and CYD stage an eating contest in the Cafeteria. Resulting in indiges- tion, yawning, frowns on Miss Imadals face and last of all but not the least, Alfred is declared the Winnah. Wotta Man! It's sure Pennies from Heaven for the Girl Reserves as they realize a huge net Profit from a benefit movie at the Aloha The- atre. Konawaena Casaba teams in- vade Honokaa. Girls go on a rampage and sew up a 32-6 vic- tory over the Dragonettes. The boys, not taking to the outdoor court as the girls did are usurp- ed by a 20-15 score. Leaving Honokaa behind, the ambitious players invaded Hilo for a crucial series of games fllll --v --.-.4c -l Top to bottom, left: Hard working molohas. The Ha'-monica band. Waiting for what? Hilo Teachers' Union have a one day Conference at the Aloha Theatre. Tetsuro Wakayama earns a new monicker besides Wimpy as he proves his food devouring po- wer at a sukiyaki dinner. Just call him Bottomless and he'll answer without hesitation. Students enjoy a vacation as Washington's Birthday is obser- ved. Kazuki Segami is confined to one of the local hospitals for snow blindness after going on a trip to Mauna Kea with a group of boys. The glistening snow just razzle dazzled his eyes. Avast you land lubber! And what do I see? A group of se- ven mighty Seniors going into the office and humbly asking for a tardy slip, thanking Mr. Clashman for sending them with all their heart. New drinking fountains are in- stalled by the Main building and the gym.
