KH5 MUSIC 'The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treason, stratqgem, and spoils,' wrote Shakespeare, and while it is true that he exaggerated, and that many an excellent person has no love for music, it is nevertheless true that music should have a very real part in life. The Girls' Glee Club and Quartet, Mixed Chorus, and other musical organizations realize this and have tried to serve the community with pleasing music of beautiful harmonies and ins- pirational words. The girls' vocal organizations gave a fall concert and are to give another concert in May. The Girls' Quartet has been much in demand and has complied with requests for many public performances. They received Superior rating in open contest, the glee club received excellent and good and the Mixed Chorus which met only for about six weeks, received a good rating in class B. The work has been enjoyable and the young voices have served a vital co munity need and will be much in prominence in the spring programs of the school, as Junior - Senior Ban- quet, Baccalaureate and Commencement. The groups are facing the future with great anticipation and interest. GIRLS' QUARTET H w z on-rmsr soPRANo Augusta Terry-snconn sornmo, cecena ggagzonfg-gnsg' ZLTO, my Lou Means-smcoun ALTO.
