There is the story of freshmen filled with bewildermentg of sophomores gradually finding themselves : of juniors, eager, ambitious, and proud of their new positions: and of seniors rejoicing in knowing that they are really seniors, yet realizing their responsibility in maintaining the dignity of the school. All of us have passed through these various stages in our development. We look back upon the class play, the junior-senior reception, senior picnic, class day program, baccalaureate, and senior prom as milestones never to be forgotten. Those seniors who have attained scholastic honors during their first three years in high school are: JUNIOR CRIM WILLIAM MAYSE BETTY LoU FRALING FRED NYGREN NORMA GUNNING REX OYLER ROBERT KELLAR MARY Jo RHODES DOROTHEA KIRBY ROBERT SPRINGER MARYBELLE KLINGERMAN BERNICE UNDERWOOD Page I6 OFFICERS ,I MARGARET AERNE-General Course Outdoor Club, 2, 3, 4. And we're saying adieu. To all the happy hours we've spent In making friendships true. So farewell, dear school. It's time we must part, But all the happy memories Will dwell in every heart. Though our hearts are sad to-day With the thoughts of leaving, All the joys of yesterday Will banish all of our grieving. So farewell, dear school And' teachers so fine. We'll always love dear K. H. S. Throughout all future time. Tune: When I Grow Too Old lo Dream -BETTY SCHRADISR. Page 42 DICK DONAHUE IVIARION HAM? JR. 'Cappy Ricks, a dramatization of the sea story by Peter B. Kyne, is laid in the oflice and home of Cappy, and has a cast of nine characters. It was under the capable supervision of Miss Lilith Farlow and Lester McCarty that the play was produced. Page 70 UCAPPY RICKSH SENIOR CLASS PLAY The play centers around Alden P. Ricks, known as Cappy, and his daughter Elorry, to whom he is very devoted. Cappy receives a letter from a boyhood friend saying that his son, Cecil Pericles Bernard, is to arrive soon to learn the shipping business. When he arrives, he is found to be a perfect pink tea English- man. Cappy leaves Cecil and Florry alone, and this gives Cecil a chance to tell Elorry of his love for a chorus girl, Goldie Glake. They plan to deceive Cappy by pretending that they are in love, in order that Cecil may stay in the West and find Goldie, as her show has broken up, and he doesn't know where to End her. As Cecil leaves, Matt Peasley enters. He is first mate on a ship and has deceived Cappy: therefore Cappy dislikes him very much and is going to fire him. Matt and Elorry become acquainted and decide to go into business together. Matt believes that Elorry is only the bookkeeper and she gives him the assumed name of Goldie Glakef' From this point the plot becomes entangled and the climax comes when Cappy learns, through Aunt Lucy and the chauffeur, that Elorry has not only been in business with Matt but is also in love with him. In the meantime Ellen Murray, the new secretary, is found to be the real Goldie, and Ellen and Cecil marry. Matt comes to Cappy's office and Skinner, the general manager. tells him of Elorrys mistaken identity. Cappy forgives all and gives Matt one minute to propose to Florry. Cecil and Ellen enter in time to hear the proposal as the curtain falls. Page 7I BAND GIUEIE CCIUUB ORCHESTRA Page 72 Publications JN? ffNf QM f if , f ,M Vx-X - Peg JUN!!
