Energetically. we sold candy and pop at games and finally netted ourselves a profit. We invested our money in a little entertainment and threw a party for one and all frosh. Because of the unhappy fact that we were mere freshmen, many of us were treated by upperclassmen in impressive ceremonies called initiations. Finally the great day dawned when we could look down on freshmen, and we called ourselves sophomores. No longer were we scjueezed into the north side of the assembly but were allowed to mingle between the now lowly freshmen and awe-inspiring juniors. In 1945, many sophomores made names for themselves and were a credit to their class. Sonny Reese was elected president, Darlene Cox and Lucile Durham won Derby Day awards for the best hat and poster. fAfter tying with the freshmen in the total of Derby Day points. we lost hy a flip of a coin.l G. R., G. A. A. and Thespians all had valuable sophomoric additions. And while dashing from party to speech, we tried to memorize A2 -4 B2 fC: taught us so consistently by Miss jones. As sophs we carried on our money-making reputation. We sponsored dances, sold candy and had considerably enlarged our bank account since I9-12. Finally, after seeing the class of '44 graduate, we called ourselves juniors. September, 1914- our biggest year. W'e elected I.ucile Durham to lead us as president. And now it was To be or not to be instead ot' A: l B: Cx. We studied hard! Winter came and with it ice cov- ered ponds. The junior skating party! Ah, remember the moon, the snow, the hot dogs, the crisp cold weather? A big success! After careful consideration under the supervision of our class adviser, Miss Wal- lace, we presented june Mad as the junior play. The entire class helped in the production as stage hands, make-up crews, costume committees. The play was profitable all around with fun, experience and more money. This money we put right to work on the junior-Senior Banquet, the highlight of our year as L'l'W'l.X'l'Y-'l'XX't Dj
