SENIOR BAND Senior Band looks back on Band Day at Gouverneur Fair, pep rallies, basketball games, Potsdam trips for All-State Band, Halloween and Christmas programs and an appearance at Appleton Arena, St. Lawrence University, with the comment, We've had a good year. The twenty-nine members are under the direction of Mr. Morse. During our last summer vacation, we played on Band Day at the Gouverneur Fair. Here we received :1 blue ribbon and twenty-tive dollars for our performance. Our band has played an active part in pep rallies and basketball games. We have played at the majority of the home games and we feel that it added to the school spirit. janet Xviese, Sarah Briggs, and Vivian White went to Potsdam to participate in the All- State Band. They stayed overnight in the Northside Dorm and were entertained at a dance one night after practice. On Halloween, the band and majorettes marched at DeGrasse. We led the elementary grades in a costume parade. At Christmas time, we played several numbers for the assembly program to which our parents and friends were invited. ln the future, the members of the band hope to participate in several other activities. At present, we are planning to have zi spring concert and play at the Dedication in May. Barrigar, V. Fulton, Sutter. 42
