D C DIVISION DAMAGE CONTROL The Damage Control Division consists mainly of the DC inspect ion and maintenance team. Since effective damage control is 90 per cent preparation and 10 per cent immediate action, the primary functions of the team are: the periodic testing and repair of all DC equipment, continual inspections of water-tight integrity and gen- eral hull condition, and all hands training in basic DC and ABC defense. Also included in the DC division are the engineering log room and repair office PERSONNEL, THE TECHNICAL LIBRARY, AND THE SHIP ' S DESIGN AND PLANNING SERVICE. THUS, THE DC DIVISION IS CONCERNED NOT ONLY WITH KLONDIKE, BUT ALSO PROVIDES SERVICES TO SHIPS BEING TENDED.
