They constantly strive for more pictures, copy and color. I don't think people realize how much time and hard work is put into publishing a yearbook, states organizations editor Karen Beck, but the end product is worth it, she concluded. Attending summer workshops and selling advertisements are two more responsibilities of staffers. As defined, a pinnacle is the highest point. This year's newspaper staff attempted to reach the highest point ever. Reporting all activities and attempting to chroniclelize events is the main purpose of the PINNACLE staff. This is also, maybe the one and only place that these events are recorded, advisor David Woods reminded. Nine issues were published this year on a monthly bases. Students were able to express Christmas wishes through messages published in the December issue. At the end of the year senior wills were printed, allowing seniors to leave memories and momentoes to underclassmen. At the UIL District meet in March, editor Patricia Mazon, features editor julie Trexler, and contributing reporter Karla Price won district events and advanced to regional competition in Mesquite. Advisor Woods commented, HI was extremely pleased about the outcome at the competition and the overall progress of the paper, CU PINNACLE staff members are, top to bottom, editor Patricia Mazon, reporter David Bergen, sports assistant Chris Cooper, sports editor Donna Dozier, first row, business manager Sharon Frain, news editor Malka Dubravsky, features editor Iulie Trexler, editorial assistance Maria Mon' temayor and reporter Simone Kashinipour. 125 Sports staffers Chris Cooper and Donna Dozier, review the redesigned Houston Post.
