Placing fourth at district, both the boys and girls advanced to regional competition. Perhaps the most notable victory for the team was at district when the boys' medley defeated their toughest opponent, Cy-Creek. Earning recognition at the state meet, junior Kathy Turner swam the 100-yard butterfly within an All-American time, according to Coach Rick Mills. Also swimming individual, senior Johnny Fields placed ninth in the 100-yard backstroke at Austin. Among other accomplishments, the boys' medley relay qualified for All-American standards and placed fourth at state. The relay consisted of juniors Tim Stranahan, Matt Assiff, Chris Young, and senior Johnny Fields. Coach Mills summed up his feelings, saying The season was the best for our team and me personally as a coach for 15 years. 210 SPORTS th 9- iv K u 1, Jw.,
