A will to win . . . A lot of speed and hustle accompa- nied by a strong desire to win helped the varsity girls' basketball team to a winning 14-12 record. Coached by Norma Io Stevens, the Lady Eagles finished third overall in District 15-5A and experienced many highlights through the season particularly, the Eagles' first-ever defeat of the Cy-Fair Bobcats, 48-39. This year's team played a tough schedule and I believe it helped them in district play, explained Coach Stephens, who is assisted by Susan Boetting. Special recognition went to Seniors Sheila Thompson and Peggy Krueger as they were named to the all-district team. Thompson shot for a 13.5 points-a-game district average, while Kruger ripped the nets at a 16-point clip. 190 SPORTS VARSITY GIRLS' M ' ...L f Q I . ,W . s t fv 'zu 1215230 li 1 .
