B A S 188 SPORTS KETBALL With the help of consistent play from Brian Norwood and Kevin Alexander, the sophomore basketball team finished the '83-'84 season with an overall 11-15 record. Even though the shooting percentage from the outside was low, the extremely strong and quick defense helped to keep Klein Forest from being overrun by opponents. Although Cy-Creek won the conference, the hardest match made with the Eagles was Conroe McCullough, according to Coach Chuck King. sae. 'NNW V Although the '83-'84 junior varsity basketball squad finished District 15-5A action with a 4-5 record, they still felt they had a fine year. We had experience, but the 'glue' for the team wasn't with us like Cy-Creek, remarked Lee Thorton on himself and his teammates. The Cougars definetely gave them the hardest run for their money for eventually finished on top of the heap in the conference. Although Cy-Creek was a rough team, many of the IV Eagle players felt that too many turnovers were their major opponent and brought on their downfall. The entire squad proves that Coach Paul Bartlett has done an creditable job attempting to mold the team.
