VARSITY lust out of reach . . . While they did not match the efforts of the bi-district championship team of last year, the 1983-84 boys' varsity basketball squad finished a close third in the 15-5A race. The Eagles were one game away from advancing to the playoffs. However, close losses to Klein, Klein Oak and Cy-Creek eliminated the Eagles from the playoff hunt. They finished with a 7-5 district mark. Despite the late-season disappointment, this year's squad finished with an overall record of 16-13. Senior Iohn Tubb was named to the first-team A11-District squad. 184 SPORTS
