V VGLLEYBALL . An experience In learning . .. According to junior varsity ball Coach Vanessa Young, It was a tough year. But she holds high hopes for the upcoming season. Highlighting the '83 campaign was the team's strong showing in the opener against Alvin High. Freshman Melinda Courson revealed, This year was a learning experience. It can onl lead to a promising future. The V spikers ended district play with an 1-11 record and closed with a 5-18 overall mark. QD Margaret Frain, sophomore, makes a return against the opposition while teammate Ianet Galvan is ready to come to her aid. Q21 Freshman Melinda Courson bumps the ball across to the other side. Q31 Coach Vanessa Young gives her players some strategy for the upcoming match. K4J Eagle spikers guard the net. Q55 Frain gives the ball her special touch over to jersey Village's Falcons. Q67 Iunior varsity volleyball team members are Vickie Dougherty, Michelle Lewis- manager, Coach Vanessa Young and Margaret Frain.
